Second Orange Sacral
Yes, we’ll get to the Second Orange Sacral Chakra, but first, let’s talk about color.
The usual assumption in life is that when I say the word orange as a descriptor, the person to whom I am speaking knows what orange is. If we were both looking at the image above, we would both know.
If you think about it, though, there are an awful lot of oranges, no?
Do I mean: pumpkin orange, yam orange, carrot orange, the orange of an orange itself, orange going toward brown, orange going toward yellow? It’s a lot to think about!
In terms of chakras, we have to think about color in terms of light, not pigment. Chakras are part of Energy Medicine; their colors have to have an energetic basis.
The orange above is the one I chose after much deliberation as the best digital orange for the first chakra. If I were to go for orange pigment, the color would be slightly different, more toward pumpkin orange, but that’s for another day.

Orange controls the free-flow of emotions, opens you to experiencing yourself and expressing your feelings when moving freely. Orange lifts a person. It pulls the attention outward. Red builds hemoglobin. It feeds the senses and creates greater sensory stimulation. It nourishes the liver.
Often people conjure orange for: exhaustion, intense emotion, menstrual cramps, infertility, fibroids, endometriosis, arthritis, moodiness, kidney dysfunction, revitalization, depression, light-deprivation during winter, respiratory stimulant, thyroid energization, anti-spasmodic, carminative (anti-gas), lungs.
