International [Rainbow] Day of Peace
Today is the International Day of Peace. This round rainbow — and did you know that all real rainbows actually are round if only we could see them — put me in mind of the peace symbol. I particularly liked the star in the center of the universe.
That star, Beloved, is you. Is me. Is each one of us. A star amidst myriad galactic stars, planets, and what-nots. And that is the work of each one of us on this international day of peace.
To be the star, to shine as the star, to radiate as the star that you were meant to be. Think of the rainbow circle — and you will note, this artist put the turquoise in — as your own aura. It is incumbent upon each one of us to intend a rainbow of good wishes for each and every being on the planet.
After reading this morning’s New York Times, that’s a tall order, I know. The thing is, if I’m unwilling to bless those with whom I disagree, then I actually withhold those blessings from myself. You can’t cut off some people without sacrificing those same bits for yourself. It’s universal law.
That’s why it’s best to bless everyone with peace. I am convinced that it is the one thing we can all agree that we want for ourselves. How we get there is another discussion altogether, but for today, let your starshine be a rainbow of peace for the whole universe.
