As the head of Spiritual & Energy Medicine at a wholistic medical center in Boston for many years, I used the chakra system all the time for diagnostic purposes.

Most Western physicians deal with the body. Period. Heart, mind, and spirit are an afterthought, if at all.

Below you will find a list of common, potential emotional symptoms/traumas related to the first Red Root Chakra.

Traumas associated with the first chakra: physical abuse, exposures to the results of parental addiction, birthing complications, abandonment, rejection.

Quite a list, isn’t it? So before you dive in and make the mistake most of us do — that of self-diagnosis … followed almost immediately by self-condemnation — all of us feel some of these things some of the time.

What we’re really looking for is pattern. Which of these is recurring in your life on a daily basis?

If you recognize yourself anywhere in this list, stop and use your inner witness to notice the symptom. That’s all.First and foremost, Beloved, no matter what your diagnosis according to which doctor, remember that to use your own energy system for healing means that you must go beyond the diagnosis, even your own self-diagnosis. The words we use tell us that themselves. Watch.

When you deal with diagnosis, often you deal with the physical.

When you deal with beyond diagnosis, you deal with the metaphysical. Simple. Not always easy.

Then imagine a pulsing, 3-D red sphere of energy at the base of your spine. Think about the symptom and see how it affects the red sphere. That’s all.

Now, what you want, what we all want is Health (without effort, but that’s another post), and the fastest way to it is to choose to be happy — no matter what symptom or diagnosis. Happiness is the fastest path to healthiness and everything else, believe it or not.

Go back to the red sphere. Ask it a question: Is there anything I need to do to relieve X symptom? Let yourself work with your energy system, this time, consciously.

If you get an answer, follow it. If you don’t, revisit the chakra when you feel the urge.

All diagnoses, Beloved, start energetically, and they all resolve energetically as well. Welcome to the elite group that knows this, and shows it, by using your inner inherent integrity to heal yourself.

Above all, be gentle with yourself.

Tomorrow, we’ll continue Emotional Dysfunctions, starting with the second Orange Sacral Chakra.
