Chakras & The Reflexologies

Let’s start with Wikipedia, shall we?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reflexology is an alternative medical practice involving the application of pressure to specific points on the feet, ears, and hands. It is based on a pseudoscientific system of zones and reflex areas that purportedly reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work on the feet and hands causes a physical change to the supposedly related areas of the body. There is no convincing scientific evidence that reflexology is effective for any medical condition.

Any guesses who wrote that ridiculousness? Certainly not a reflexologist.

As anyone who has ever had a reflexology treatment knows, it works. Mostly we know that because it hurts when it works. An ouch on the foot will tell a skilled reflexologist exactly where tension is stored in the rest of the organism.

All the reflexologies are aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine — TCM.

So how does it work with chakras?

Chakras are the major component of the human energy system — the one that powers the other eleven! They’re three-dimensional energetic vortices suspended in front of the spine in the center of the body. I view them as the Divine seen through a prism.

Consider the image above.

Say you’re struggling with a commitment in your life — any kind of commitment. Commitment is usually a Third Yellow Solar Chakra issue.

Gently press on the spot just below your nose, properly called the philtrum, as you think about your choices.

First, it might cause a sensation in your solar plexus as that’s where your Third Chakra lives.

Second, the slight pressure might give you a clearer path to insight if you’ll be gently persistent with it.

Sometimes the best way to work with a chakra that’s feeling challenged is to work around it. Using body correspondences like reflexologies can by-pass the conscious mind, and get you in touch with your deepest self.

Another way might be to table all your conscious thought (read: struggle) over the issue, and just randomly, as you think of it, press the philtrum off and on throughout the day. Then, later, sit with the issue. I’m betting it’s clearer than it was.

The best thing about reflexology is that it can’t hurt you and it might help you. In pain? Worried about something? Guilty over another thing? Follow your intuition, and try it. You might be deliciously surprised.
