Leslie Temple-Thurston is the author of a book called Keys to Ascension. These next chakra teachings were inspired by her work.

Let me remind you that the most important thing about the chakras is that they are a system. They’re meant to work together as a system.

One of the major areas of differing chakra theories, once we’ve divided and conquered them, so to speak, is what happens between each chakra.

Remember the color list? Here it is again:

Red>RedOrange>Orange>OrangeYellow>Yellow>YellowGreen>Green>GreenTurquoise>Turquoise>TurquoiseIndigo>Indigo>IndigoViolet>Violet>VioletRose>Rose>RoseRed

The Keys to Ascension are revisited here in the order of the chakra system.

This chakra in-between occurs above the Second Orange Sacral Chakra, and below the Third Yellow Solar Chakra.

The belief that lives between First and Second is: View the ego impersonally.

The In-Between color is OrangeYellow.

The Grace of he Second Orange Sacral Chakra is Passion. The Grace of the Third Yellow Solar Chakra is Power.

View the ego impersonally is great advice, but it might be better said, View your ego impersonally. Which is a much harder assignment than it seems. Your ego, from the Greek which means literally I, is personal to you. It’s your sense of where you end and others begin.

I like to consider ego in all beings something worth witnessing. Because the ego is based on separating you from me, and me from a sea turtle, it’s hard to witness it impersonally. It used to be that when my now ex-mother-in-law would tell me, “It’s not personal,” I learned to answer, “Maybe not, but I am the person involved.”

Try this. Report on your ego to your spiritual self. Ego is meant to make navigating in a world of polarity easier. I/Not I. Watch your ego’s ideas, thoughts, words, and deeds like you’re watching the news. Tell yourself the facts.

What I know for sure, as Oprah would say, is that when Passions and Power are involved, it’s never impersonal.
