Chakras & Manifestation: “Well, you see, Oprah …” & Sixth Indigo Brow
Remember that the eight major chakras comprise a system, and it’s the chakra system that’s vital, not just each individual component of it. Here is another way to use affirmations to keep your energy bright.
I call it “Well, you see, Oprah.”
Here’s a lovely upgrade to visualization which works particularly well for those who are more oriented to words than images, but it also invokes imagery if you’ll let it. I first came across something similar in a book by Gala Darling (for real.)
Imagine yourself sitting in a comfortable chair opposite Oprah Winfrey — the interviewer of interviewers of our time.
Oprah asks, “[Your name,] how did you ever [fill in this blank with whatever magical thing you wanted]?”
You begin, “Well, you see, Oprah,” and then you tell her the story of how you managed it.
There are, as you might imagine, some rules for this story:
1. Make it up as you go along every time you do the exercise.
This means every single time, no exceptions.
If you do this, then this means you’re discovering it as Oprah is.
2. Let the how of it flow from within you.
This means it will likely change as your subconscious changes — which it will do every time you tell the story. No matter HOW fantastical.
In fact, if it includes steam-punk costumes, three unicorns, and a Victorian-era dirigible, so much the better.
3. Use the human energy system a.k.a. the chakras to organize your story.
That way you cover (and include) all aspects of yourself in the story.
Let’s use the example of a small business just on the verge of breaking through to make it big when disaster hits.
First Red Root: So, the first thing I did after the kitchen explosion was call out to my team to make sure everyone was still with us and okay. Believe me when I tell you, I breathed a huge sigh of relief when each one answered in the affirmative.
Second Orange Sacral: We found a surprisingly empty spot like the calm in the eye of a tornado in the center of the rubble and spent a few moments exclaiming over how we’d all survived, looked like we’d been through hell, and laughed/cried with relief.
Third Yellow Solar: Once we got through our initial reactions, I asked everyone to turn slowly in a full circle right where they stood. I told us all, Okay, team, we get to clean up this mess, and figure out next steps after that. Use your feelings of helplessness to power through the clean-up. Maybe we’ll get it done by lunchtime if we do.
Fourth Green Heart: Then, the manager ordered lunch for all of us, and we sat huddled together in the newly sparkling kitchen. Eventually, someone asked, “What do we do now?” and I realized that was my cue, as the owner, to restore the heart of our mission. I said, “We start the day over again, and do what we intended to do the first time, covering for our fearless manager who will deal with the insurance and the delay for our customer. Think of it this way, my friends, we’re still here for a reason.
Fifth Turquoise Throat: And I reminded myself, and the whole team, that it was up to us whether we labelled the experience as good or bad. It would be our words that set the trajectory for how things would work out in the future, and I, for one, wanted there to be a blessing in the midst of supposed disaster.
Sixth Indigo Brow: As we started The Day of the Explosion, Take Two, I felt that deep connection amongst our small number that meant we were all in this together and working intently on doing what needed doing. Gratitude swelled in my heart, and I began to hear the inner voice that guides all of us when we listen.
A quick word about visualization. The only way for you to visualize is the way you do it. Period. The secret to powerful visualization is to choose one that provokes strong emotion in you.
Even if you and I were working toward the exact same goal in life, we would need differing visualizations because of the individual wiring of our chakra systems.
Remember that we must want for everyone what we want for ourselves. If I begrudge you having what I want, then I can’t have it either.
It’s because we’re all energetically connected.
Over the next few days, I’ll share the rest of the “Well, you see, Oprah” rules. Blessèd week.
