Chakras & Exercise: First Red Root

Chakras are the core of the human energy system. Working with these magical, restorative components allows you to heal, grow, and learn from the inside-out. I see them as the Divine Life Force itself viewed as a prism.

For the next few posts, I’m going to address some of the energetic benefits of using energy medicine via specifc daily exercises in combination with the chakras. They are based on the chakra work of Alexa Ispas.

The Grace of the First Red Root Chakra is Life.

Learning to work consciously with the life force itself, whether one feels an excess as in staticky, anxious energy, or logy sorrowing energy, can be enhanced by using these recommended exercises:

Massage your feet. This will switch on the energy of your root chakra.

Take care of your physical needs. The more comfortable you feel within your body, the more secure you will feel within yourself.

Tidy up your living and working environment(s). This will reassure your subconscious that everything is taken care of and working well throughout your life. As a result, your body will relax and provide you with a wide variety of health benefits.

Let’s go over them, one at a time, and I’ll explain.

Massaging your feet is a one-way ticket to the Present Moment, always a good idea. Being grounded wherever we are — including in an airplane — is a necessity. If you don’t know where you’re starting from, how can you possibly get where you want to go?

Taking care of physical needs ought to be a no-brainer, but wow, it totally isn’t in the Western world. Instead, the majority of people approach their bodies like machines that occasionally malfunction. Bodies are your first line of defense, and your best, most accurate information-providers about how you are, and what to do next.

Clearing your living and work spaces makes everything flow more smoothly in a life. If you don’t believe me, try doing one or the other and see which part of your life is better. A tense environment makes for tense inhabitants.

These three, done daily will energize and balance your First Red Root Chakra. Try them for 21 days and see what happens.

A healthy root chakra is the foundation for the other seven.
