Chakras & Emotional Masteries: Third Yellow Solar

There are an infinite number of ways to approach chakras, and to work with these magical, restorative components of the human energy system. Remember that chakras are the principle components of the human energy system. I see them as the Divine Life Force itself viewed as a prism.

For the next few posts, I’m going to address the singular, major emotion that lies at the core of the eight major chakras. The Third Yellow Solar Chakra has Confidence at its core.

There are teachers who say that the goal of emotions and chakras is mastery, but I disagree. Mastery sounds to me a little too much like control, and one of the largest errors at the core of the patriarchal system that is late-stage capitalism is control.

Emotions aren’t about control, except insofar as it’s better if we can choose our moments. Instead, our emotions are an E.W.S. — Early Warning System.

The Grace of the Third Yellow Solar Chakra is Power, and inarguably, life itself does require some power, doesn’t it?

Confidence is an interesting word etymologically. It comes from roots meaning with loyalty. The infinitive fidere is the root of the word fidelity.

Think about that for a minute, instead of living in a trial-and-error modality, which always seems as capricious as it can be foolish, why not try for measured sorting of what you’re feeling instead? So many of us have learned to live as though we are victims of our own emotions. We’re not!

Confidence, and particularly self-confidence, is a prerequisite to the ability to take action or advocate in one’s own behalf.

Life does ask our confidence, also our consideration, care for both self and others, and whole host of other things dependent upon circumstances. If your overriding emotion in a situation is lack of confidence, try imagining that you’re asking instead in someone else’s behalf and see where that takes you. Oh, and wear yellow to remind yourself to be more confident!
