Chakras & Emotional Masteries: Sixth Indigo Brow
There are an infinite number of ways to approach chakras, and to work with these magical, restorative components of the human energy system. Remember that chakras are the principle components of the human energy system. I see them as the Divine Life Force itself viewed as a prism.
For the next few posts, I’m going to address the singular, major emotion that lies at the core of the eight major chakras. The Sixth Indigo Brow Chakra has Vision at its core.
There are teachers who say that the goal of emotions and chakras is mastery, but I disagree. Mastery sounds to me a little too much like control, and one of the largest errors at the core of the patriarchal system that is late-stage capitalism is control.
Emotions aren’t about control, except insofar as it’s better if we can choose our moments. Instead, our emotions are an E.W.S. — Early Warning System.
The Grace of the Sixth Indigo Brow Chakra is Intuition, and inarguably, life itself does require some intuition, doesn’t it?
Intuition is an interesting word etymologically. It comes from late 18th century Latin roots meaning to look upon. I think of it as the principle activity of Knowing. To look upon implies that we take our own unique viewpoint, and I do mean unique. One, only, and our own. This is inside-out knowing at its best.
Think about that for a minute, instead of living as though this were a random reality, what if you began to practice choosing Vision, or inside-out knowing in each situation of your life?
Life does ask our Knowing to make choices all day every day — even when it doesn’t seem that way. The easiest way to navigate life is from the inside-out, using your God-given intuition. I never once met a person who didn’t have it!
Life also asks our consideration, care for both self and others, and whole host of other things dependent upon circumstances. If your overriding emotion in a situation is lack of knowing, try imagining that you’re asking instead for intuition in someone else’s behalf and see where that takes you. Oh, and wear indigo to remind yourself to be more conscious that you do have a choice!
