Chakras & Emotional Masteries: Seventh Violet Crown

There are an infinite number of ways to approach chakras, and to work with these magical, restorative components of the human energy system. Remember that chakras are the principle components of the human energy system. I see them as the Divine Life Force itself viewed as a prism.

For the next few posts, I’m going to address the singular, major emotion that lies at the core of the eight major chakras. The Seventh Violet Crown Chakra has Manna at its core.

I asked a rabbi once for a definition of Manna since it’s one of the few words not translated into other languages in the Scriptures. He twinkled at me, told me if was a very good question, and said, “Manna means … what is.” Ah, the magic of the present.

There are teachers who say that the goal of emotions and chakras is mastery, but I disagree. Mastery sounds to me a little too much like control, and one of the largest errors at the core of the patriarchal system that is late-stage capitalism is control.

Emotions aren’t about control, except insofar as it’s better if we can choose our moments. Instead, our emotions are an E.W.S. — Early Warning System.

The Grace of the Seventh Violet Crown Chakra is Abundance, and inarguably, life itself does require some abundance, doesn’t it? And abundance itself asks that we see it to believe it to manifest it.

Abundance is an interesting word etymologically. It comes from Latin roots meaning from a wave. I think of it as the principle activity of Circulation. Circulation implies both an ebb and a flow; think of the tide. It means: sometimes you’ll have more and sometimes you’ll have less, but that no matter what, circulation is motion, and that in itself makes for change.

Think about that for a minute, instead of living as though everything were solid, what if you began to practice the realization that everything is in motion? That it can all change in the twinkling of an eye depending upon what you choose to witness.

Life does ask our faith in its natural abundance, and to witness its existence. It’s a deep, deep learning for most of us, and once we get it, money becomes the easiest thing in the world.

Life also asks our consideration, care for both self and others, and whole host of other things dependent upon circumstances. If your overriding emotion in a situation is lack, try imagining that you’re asking instead for abundance in someone else’s behalf and see where that takes you. Oh, and wear violet to remind yourself to be more conscious that your witness is what creates your abundance!
