Chakras & Emotional Masteries: Fourth Green Heart
There are an infinite number of ways to approach chakras, and to work with these magical, restorative components of the human energy system. Remember that chakras are the principle components of the human energy system. I see them as the Divine Life Force itself viewed as a prism.
For the next few posts, I’m going to address the singular, major emotion that lies at the core of the eight major chakras. The Fourth Green Heart Chakra has Contentment at its core.
There are teachers who say that the goal of emotions and chakras is mastery, but I disagree. Mastery sounds to me a little too much like control, and one of the largest errors at the core of the patriarchal system that is late-stage capitalism is control.
Emotions aren’t about control, except insofar as it’s better if we can choose our moments. Instead, our emotions are an E.W.S. — Early Warning System.
The Grace of the Fourth Green Heart Chakra is Love, and inarguably, life itself does require some love, doesn’t it?
Contentment is an interesting word etymologically. It comes from roots meaning satisfied. I think of it like a rhythm track underlying everything in my life.
Think about that for a minute, instead of living in a trial-and-error modality, which always seems as capricious as it can be foolish, why not try for measured sorting of what you’re feeling instead? So many of us have learned to live as though we are victims of our own emotions. We’re not!
Contentment arises when we are conTENT with the CONtent of our lives. It’s actually a choice.
Life does ask our contentment, also our consideration, care for both self and others, and whole host of other things dependent upon circumstances. If your overriding emotion in a situation is lack of dissatisfaction, try imagining that you’re asking instead in someone else’s behalf and see where that takes you. Oh, and wear green to remind yourself to be more content!
