Chakras & Emotional Masteries: Fifth Turquoise Throat
There are an infinite number of ways to approach chakras, and to work with these magical, restorative components of the human energy system. Remember that chakras are the principle components of the human energy system. I see them as the Divine Life Force itself viewed as a prism.
For the next few posts, I’m going to address the singular, major emotion that lies at the core of the eight major chakras. The Fifth Turquoise Throat Chakra has Unity at its core.
There are teachers who say that the goal of emotions and chakras is mastery, but I disagree. Mastery sounds to me a little too much like control, and one of the largest errors at the core of the patriarchal system that is late-stage capitalism is control.
Emotions aren’t about control, except insofar as it’s better if we can choose our moments. Instead, our emotions are an E.W.S. — Early Warning System.
The Grace of the Fifth Turquoise Throat Chakra is Creativity, and inarguably, life itself does require some creativity, doesn’t it?
Create is an interesting word etymologically. It comes from late Middle English roots meaning to form out of nothing. I think of it as the principle activity of Free Will. We are indeed free to will both Unity and Separation. Which do you choose? And did you even realize you had a choice?
Think about that for a minute, instead of living as though this were a random reality, what if you began to practice choosing Unity or Separation in each situation of your life?
Life does ask our Free Will to make choices all day every day — even when it doesn’t seem that way. It also asks our consideration, care for both self and others, and whole host of other things dependent upon circumstances. If your overriding emotion in a situation is lack of separation, try imagining that you’re asking instead for unity in someone else’s behalf and see where that takes you. Oh, and wear turquoise to remind yourself to be more conscious that you do have a choice!
