Chakras & Crystals: First Red Root
There are an infinite number of ways to approach chakras, and to work with these magical, restorative components of the human energy system. Remember that chakras are the principle components of the human energy system. I see them as the Divine Life Force itself viewed as a prism.
For the next few posts, I’m going to address some of the energetic benefits of using energy medicine via crystals in combination with the chakras.
I am not a crystal expert, nor am I a western medical doctor. I have, however, been called The Chakra Doctah on many occasions.
The Grace of the First Red Root Chakra is Life.
Remembering that managing excesses related to Life, the energetic of living aware of one’s own life force, these are the recommended crystals:
*Azurite, *Black Tourmaline, *Bloodstone, *Carnelian, *Chrysocolla, *Citrine, *Dark Silicified Wood, *Garnet, *Golden Yellow Topaz, *Hematite, *Jasper, *Jet, *Obsidian, *Onyx, *Red Jasper, *Ruby, **Smoky Quartz

Now, there are some things you need to know about using crystals. First, there are psychospiritual/emotional applications for these earth-based healers, and, second, there are physical applications. As someone working with chakras, you need to know how the two sets of applications interact.
It would be useless to list all the psychospiritual/emotion applications for each stone, because it would be attempting to do with crystals what western medicine practitioners attempt to do with pharmaceuticals via formularies. They learn … this drug is for that thing. The end.
Crystals are energy medicine and based on frequency, you would be better off reading a list of stones, noticing which one or ones grabbed you in any given situation, and using those. You can always get the books that tell you what’s for what, but they’ll work better if you do it energetically and intuitively.
Or, show your client the list, and let her pick. Then you can be sure it’s the best choice. And then add these two vital words:
For now.
Heed those last two words, beloved, because, believe me, tomorrow, or even fifteen minutes, no, five, later, you could need totally different stones for the same issue. It all depends upon how you or your client has whatever it is wired up within, and how the application of the first stone changes the system, which you can’t know until it happens.
With crystals, I generally recommend that you default to my default, which is to use crystals that color-match each chakra. Simple, direct, to the point, and red is red, variations notwithstanding.
And, as is true with any kind of medical treatment, whether you believe me or not, you are your own best healer IF you’ll listen to your body. If you’ll get still and pay attention to the wisdom of your own body’s well-being and not totally abdicate your body to the ‘expertise’ of anyone else, you will find your way.
