3rd Chakra: For / Why

You will recall … we are working toward creating a single sentence that embodies each chakra’s essence. They all begin: Because I receive [Grace,] I give [Gift] (see the past few posts).

The next piece of the equation answers two questions simultaneously. Namely, Where and Why. Efficient, isn’t it?

Where is all about the realm in which most of the effects of each chakra occurs. The realm, or area of your life, is also the why: because each realm holds a desirable goal for everyone.

So let us continue with the 3rd Yellow Solar Chakra and build out our single sentence.

Because I receive Power, I give Commitment for Livelihood …

Livelihood comes from Old English roots meaning life + course. It means that we’re not only talking about a day job. Stop to think about it for a minute, Livelihood really is broad, or it ought to be. Confining it to a job seems a little short-sighted. Consider that you are a fourfold being: Body, Heart, Mind, Spirit.

What is, then … Body Livelihood, Heart Livelihood, Mind Livelihood, Spirit Livelihood? How does each manifest in your life?

Body Livelihood can certainly mean a body that isn’t supported by how you spend your time, but it can also mean a body that is enhanced by the way you commit your time. Both ways are available to you. It’s a choice.

Heart Livelihood can certainly mean a heart that isn’t committed, but it can also mean a heart that is so certain about its desires that it can be used as a way to make choices.

Mind Livelihood can certainly mean a mind that isn’t challenged, but it can also mean a mind that is on a constant learning curve of its own devising. Again, it’s all choices.

Spirit Livelihood can certainly mean a core that isn’t fulfilled, but it can also mean a spirit that is constantly seeking the joy of fulfillment by exploring new practices and growth opportunities.

See? Much more complicated than you originally thought. And we haven’t even touched a day gig! This is well worth thinking about, Beloved. We all do want Livelihood, as in a way of life that we can truly commit to, and a fulfilling way to earn a living, and we want it because it makes life richer which is a good enough reason.
